Minichamps, formerly know as Paul's Model Art, is a die-cast model car producer found in 1990 and based in Germany. The name Minichamps came from one of their model's they named, a DTM Audi V8. Soon after they used the name occasionally. Minichamps started to make German Touring Cars. When their model's grabbed media attention, real-life racing sponsors and teams, started to sponsor Minichamps with models. In 1996 they officially named themselves Minichamps. Minichamps also make Formula 1 diecast models, Le Mans models and WTCC, BTCC, DTM models. In 1998 Minichamps started to compete with Onyx because they were making Formula 1 and Touring Car models. Since its name, Minichamps has been well-known for the precise detail in their 1:43 scale models. They have started to make European saloons and hatchbacks. Minichamps also produce 1:43 models for several car companies such as, Opel, BMW, Volkswagen, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Porsche.
